Special Bottles

I have the good fortune of having a wine-loving father, and his incredible cellar is filled with hidden gems. Last year, he opened the best aged Champagne I have ever had the good luck to try:

We enjoyed a bottle of 1991 Veuve Clicquot that he had been saving, and it was showing optimally. This Champagne had aged for 23 years, and the flavours in the wine were deeply complex. The usual notes of brioche and baked apple were magnified, and the vibrancy and life in the wine was unlike anything I have ever tasted.

I was blown away by how this wine maintained its acidity, balance and gorgeous flavours. It is truly a special bottle to me that will always sweep me away to the cellars of Champagne just by thinking of it - now that is true magic.
